Bird notes. Records of the Raffles Museum, No. 5
This short note by F. N. Chasen, Keeper of Birds at the Raffles Museum, records several ornithological observations from Singapore and the Malay Peninsula, including measurements of Zosterops natalis, records of introduced and escaped cage birds in Singapore, a new mainland record of Delichon urbica dasypus, and an assessment of the local status of Oceanodroma monorhis at Horsburgh Lighthouse (p. 68).
Chasen documents the establishment of several non-native species in Singapore, most notably Uroloncha leucogastroides, a Sumatran-Javan species now found in small flocks across the island, and Munia oryzivora, which has spread to neighbouring islets and the Riau Archipelago (p. 69). He also corrects earlier misidentifications of Sturnia malabarica and S. m. nemoricola as immature Sturnia turdiformes (p. 69). The note concludes with a table of measurements for nine specimens of Oceanodroma monorhis from the Raffles Museum collection, most obtained at Horsburgh Lighthouse in May 1923 and May 1924 (p. 70).
