This is a brief errata notice published in the Journal of the Straits Branch of the Royal Asiatic Society (December 1882) correcting three textual errors in an article titled “A Few Ideas on the Probable Origin of the Hill Tribes of Formosa” (Journal No. 9).

The notice records three corrections to the referenced article: the deletion of the word “then” on page 71, line 11; the insertion of the phrase “were in earlier times” after the word “group” on page 71, line 13; and the correction of the name “Mr. A. U. Bain” to “Mr. A. N. Bain” on page 72, line 33 (p. 2).
