This is an errata notice correcting typographical and factual errors in R.S. Shelford’s “A list of the butterflies of Borneo, and Nymphalinae,” published in JSBRAS Vol. 45 (1906), pp. 89–136.
Summary
The notice lists approximately thirty corrections spanning pages 89–134 of the original article. The majority are typographical: misspellings of genus and species names (e.g., Crymanthis for Erymanthis, Dugapa for Ducapa, Wioeus for Uraeus), place names (Nias for Nicev, Kina for Kinabalu), and common words (blade for black, place for phase). One substantive taxonomic correction reclassifies Nymphalinae from a family to a subfamily within Lemoniidae (p. 89).
A separate set of corrections addresses errors on p. 56 and p. 286 of the same volume, including the misattribution of Sus verrucosus and Sus barbatus to the wrong regional pig species, and several typographical fixes in a note on Negrito physical characteristics (p. 286).
